In the past 20 years of operations, the Palace-on-Wheels has been rated

exclusive Palace on Wheels takes you into the opulent world of
Maharajas, magnificent palaces and imposing forts. The facilities on
board the train are marked by affluence and exuberance. The train is
self-sufficient with all the modern amenities. Made up of sixteen period
carriages, the train features lounges, two restaurant carriages and
double and twin-bedded cabins with en suite facilities, all furnished in
classic Rajput style.

DAY 1 TO DELHI

DAY 2 - DELHI
Transfer to your hotel for one night. Afternoon tour of New Delhi. (N)

DAY 3 - DELHI
Morning at leisure; afternoon transfer to the station to board the
Palace on Wheels in time for dinner and evening departure for Jaipur.

DAY 4 - JAIPUR
Arrive at Jaipur, the land of Maharajas, magnificent Palaces and
impressive forts. One of the most well planned cities of the world.
To explore the city an air conditioned coach takes you on a morning
visit to the ancient capital of Amber, a fort 8 km away, where rides on
an elephant add to the ambience, then lunch at the Rambagh Palace. An
afternoon tour of Jaipur allows you to shop for Jaipur’s famous
jewellery, handicrafts, carpets, blue pottery and textiles. After lunch
visit the City Palace. Return to the train for dinner on board and an
early evening departure to Jaisalmer. (B, L, D).

DAY 5 - JAISALMER
In the heart of the Thar desert lies Jaisalmer, founded by Rawal Jaisal,
in 1156. Here the yellow sandstone fort is an imposing sight, towering
magnificently on the shimmering sandscape.
We make a morning tour of Jaisalmer Fort. After lunch aboard the train,
we then visit the Sam sand dunes for a short camel ride and afternoon
tea. There will be dinner and cultural programmes at a hotel in
Jaisalmer before returning to the train and leave for Jodhpur at night.

DAY 6 - JODHPUR
Breakfast is served before arriving at Jodhpur, a city ringed by a high
stone wall with seven gates and several bastions. Jodhpur, the second
largest city of Rajasthan, founded by Rao Jodha in 1459, is known for
its rock-solid Mehrangarh Fort.
After morning arrival in Jodhpur, we visit the Jaswant Thada and the
Meherangarh Fort. After lunch at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, there is some
time at leisure before returning to the train and departing for Sawai
Madhopur. (B, L, D)

DAY 7 SAWAI MADHOPUR/RANTHAMBORE/CHITTORGARH
Sawai Madhopur was named after its founder Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh I.
After breakfast we go to the Ranthambhor National Park for a morning of
game viewing.
This wildlife sanctuary is considered to be the country’s best for
observing and photographing the activities of the tiger. Late morning
departure for the hilltop fortress at Chittorgarh. (B, L, D)
After lunch on board you are in Chittaurgarh. Images of love and valour,
scars of battles lost and won - thrice beseiged, Chittaurgarh Fort is
all this and more. Moving legends of honour and pride will echo in your
mind as you proceed to Udaipur, with dinner onboard.

DAY 8 - UDAIPUR
Arrive early morning in Udaipur, founded by Maharana Udai Singh of
Mewar. With enchanting lakes and lush greenery, this place oozes with
beauty and is a symbol of romance, the most appealing place for poets,
painters, travellers and writers.
Morning drive to Udaipur via the temples at Nagda. In Udaipur, we visit
the Lake Palace for lunch. Afternoon tour of the City Palace then return
to board the train for dinner to proceed to Bharatpur. (B, L, D).

DAY 9 – BHARATPUR AND AGRA
Early morning visit to Bharatpur, one of the finest bird sanctuaries in
the world. Continue to the extraordinary deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri
and then on to Agra to explore the majestic Taj Mahal – one of the seven
wonders of the world. A pristine monument of undying love, it was built
by Emporor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Also
visit Agra Fort and tombs. Return to the train for dinner on board as
the train departs on its overnight journey to Delhi. (B, L, D).

DAY 10- DELHI
Palace on Wheels dream journey ends in Delhi, the heart of India. Delhi
is the capital of India and her third largest city. It is a truly
cosmopolitan city - a home to people from different sates, speaking
different languages and celebrating different festivals. Arrive and
transfer to your hotel, for an overnight stay. Afternoon tour of Old
Delhi. (B)

DAY 10 TO LONDON
Very early morning flight to London with British Airways. (N)
